Transformation

I have always had naturally straight hair.  And when it's long it can be as straight as I want it to be....

But, I got bored.  So.....

The kampung girl =p

Since I have nothing better to do, I decided to go about taking photographs around my house compound.  For your information, I live in the kampung (village).  Perhaps its the saturation of shopping malls and the like back in KL that makes this once-ordinary simple life seem distinctively noteworthy.

Even a photo like this becomes worth posing for =D

See what I found amongst the foliage.  A pitcher plant!  Bet you can't find something as exotic as that around your place.

I did not take this from a tourist website online, but it is, if I may call it, a miniature waterfall just outside the fence surrounding the compound.  It is not man made, but purely a natural feature surrounded by lush greenery.  Note the ferns growing at the side.  The water we use in the house comes from the head of this stream.  I used to hang around this spot when I needed to clear my mind in the past.  Unfortunately by now, the foliage has gotten much denser and it has turned into a place which hordes plenty of insects including the dreaded mosquitoes.  Thus, after a quick snap of this picture at a perfect angle, off I go back into the surrounding fence.

We grow vegetables such as this lady's finger plant depicted in this photo.  Organically grown, meals can't get fresher than this.  Pluck it, wash it and cook it immediately.  Yummy!

My favourite fruit.. mango!!  Some of you know how I get those sudden mango cravings.  =p  Perhaps those are, in a way, just reminiscent of home.  Before, this mango plant was merely a foot tall, now it has turned into a proper fruit bearing tree.  Just my luck for it to be bearing fruits when I am back.

Suggestion of activities you can do around the compoud (which of course, I never do.  I'm just suggesting *grins*) :

Spend a night in the chicken coop.  (It never had any chickens.  It still doesn't! lol)

Chop logs to barbeque wild animals

Climb the old durian tree, tallest of the trees.  I like how this tree casts a majestic silhouette against the early evening sky.  It used to be bare and leaf-less, yet recently, it decided to sprout green leaves to welcome me home. (perasan!)

And now presenting........

Goodbye Hong Kong =)  It was an awesome trip.  I sooo needed sleep when I got back =p

Hong Kong Memories - Disneyland -

We decided to head off to Disneyland on the 7th day of our trip.  Participants of this trip to Disneyland: Ee Loo, Zhen Han, Ronnie, Boey, Pretib and I.  It had been raining every single day in Hong Kong since we landed, yet on this day, the skies were clear and the sun was shining brightly. (ok, it was actually unbearably scorching hot, but everything seemed so... magical, that for once, this candle princess had an amazing time and did not melt.)

The train to disneyland:  They had glass panes the shape of Mickey, even the handle railings were of this shape.  I guess you won't have a hard time spotting the hidden Mickey, simply because they aren't hidden.

Welcome!!

The waiting was well worth itThe 3D movie was spectacular!

Hong Kong Day 6

The 6th day in Hong Kong was probably the day I spoke to many people whom I didn't speak to before.  I don't have many photos from this day because most of the day was spent in the hotel attending seminars, which were in fact very interesting.  One of the more impactful parts of the seminars was one in which we did the exercise, to choose 5 most important values to us personally, and one by one give them up.  In the end, we were left with only one, and I was left with integrity.

After the seminars, we headed to the HSBC headquarters for a tour.  This was the 2nd time I was touring HSBC, because we went for this tour on the day of the competition as we arrived early.
With Melda and Daniel (both from Hong Kong)
With the Bruneians
After the tour, I met up with Patricia and Maggie, the two HK representatives I met at the ESU Public Speaking Competition in London.

We then joined Eric's HK friends, and had another awesome dinner.  They were so nice to bring us around for more of hong kong's authentic street food =)  yummy!

We walked around Times Square I bought two hats =)

And the day ended at the Irish Pub again, to watch football (note the colour of Zhen Han's face haha)
