Followed Alex to his field site somewhere in the Northern part of Sydney, where he collected his samples and I tagged along being a busybody haha =)
On Tuesday, Bryant took me around the city.
Town Hall
Market City where Paddy's Market is. Place to buy cheap fruits and vegetables =)
The golden tree monument ~ chinatown
I don't know what this statue is lol. Just took a photo for fun
Hyde Park
On Saturday, I met up with Therese who's doing her internship in Sydney for the semester. We went to Darling Harbour, the museums that were there, the Sydney Aquarium, some shopping malls and Sydney tower
At the monorail station. Thought the sign was amusing =p
Our first stop was Sydney tower. I took this photo earlier, but it was only with Therese that we went up. The sky looks fake =p
The view of the city from Sydney Tower
Birds eye view of Hyde Park... was the only source of greenery I could find from up there.
OZ trek
My souvenir - a pressed penny
The machine that generates these "defaced" pennies
Darling Harbour!! We went their via monorail
On the bridge
Sydney Aquarium at Darling Harbour
In front of the aquarium/pool where you can touch the starfish =)
I saw dugongs for the first time in my life. I remember writing about them when I was in primary school for either social studies, or was it a nature club meeting
With Therese in front of the Dugong pool
The dugong! Doesn't look very much like a mermaid does it? Maybe the guys in the legend were half blind =p It's like an ugly version of a dolphin crossed with a seal perhaps? Nevertheless dugongs are quite rare these days and its really quite nice to be able to see them.
The Oceanarium houses sharks
Little penguins!!
Seahorse
Crocodile.. I don't think its a real one
Upclose short of a turtle. Say cheese!
(turtle looks pissed, "off the flash will ya? It's blinding me!")
Some lizard thing.. monitor lizard? I don't remember, I'm just guessing
Crayfish
Another aquarium
Haven't seen a photograph that looks more fake than this real one looks
Just to prove that its a PHOTO I'm standing there
We went to the National Maritime Museum, which was free =D (thank goodness, I'm seriously running out of $$). We also went to the powerhouse musuem which had a five dollar entry fee. The powerhouse museum showcases technology equipment, both old and modern ones. Some of the things on exhibit were pretty cool.
This is a model of the water cube design used in the ceiling of the aquatics center in the Beijing Olympics
Haha hmm bra + flowers?
