Sydney

I took a 9.45 pm flight yesterday to Gold Coast, arrived in Gold Coast airport at 7.30 am, waited till 3.25 before heading off to Sydney.

My first impression of Australia is excellent. =) The airport staff are very nice and friendly, and so are the few people that I encountered.

Sydney seems to be a city with a really nice feel to it. I'm not really sure how the place is really like though, because I arrived in the evening. I did have a partial tour of the UNSW campus thanks to my senior Alex, and it's really really nice. Some very fine architecture indeed. After that we went for dinner with some of his friends. Even had a ride home! =D so nice. Gotta learn how to take public transport and all soon.

About my accommodation, Malaysian Hall.......... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm lots to say =p

Well let's not publish it. hahahha ask me in person if you wanna hear the full story. =D

Too tired to think and write properly. Tomorrow I'm planning to spend the day walking around and buying stuff. Hopefully if I remember, I'll bring my camera and post them up. I bet Australian internet is 10000x better than my connection in KL.

Oh, and I must not forget.. thanks for the messages, for the phone calls, for the facebook wishes, for the msn farewell conversations..... =D I miss you guys even before I left!!!!! HUGZZZZZZ

In KL Sentral

I am now in Starbucks, KL Sentral, waiting for two hours before I take a bus the the airport. Had to check out of my hostel room before 4pm and I wanted to avoid any form of traffic jam, so I am here early.

Thanks to Tracey I have a few cds worth of movies n series :D That shall keep me busy while I wait for seven hours for a connecting flight to sydney.

Farewell

In 19 hours, I would be flying off to Sydney. It's not until I'm about to leave when I realise what I mean to people. I guess all those emo-ness in the past is really not something justificable.

I shall sorely miss my dear dear friends. They made the past near 3 years the best years of my life yet. I love you guys.

It took almost forever to clear my stuff out of my room. One bag after another of black garbage plastic bags were thrown out, and countless shoe boxes. =p Now that everything's packed (or at least I know which bag things are going to go to tomorrow) it's a relief, and I am exhausted.

It's been a busy busy busy 4 days in KL.

The odd thing is that I'm neither excited nor apprehensive. I just feel very tired. It has been a lovely semester, pretty much stress free and worry free yet productive enough to keep me content. Most of all, it has been a semester of really having that feeling of appreciation for the wonderful friendships I have with people around me.

Happy Valentine's Day

It's ironic how everytime 14th Feb comes around, I'll see people with depressingly lonely personal messages on their msn. If only all these lonely people came together.. how perfect that would be, and no one would be lonely! (how come that turns out sounding sarcastic?)

Of course perfect is never real x_x but I don't get what's the deal with all these depression during valentine's day. If valentine's day is about love, then it's all around us. Watch the smile forming around the corners of someone's lips.. listen to a peal of laughter across the room.. hear the concern in different inflection and tone in a friend's voice when you need someone to talk to... feeling relieved when someone helps you when you can't do something... spending your precious time doing something for someone... having your friends organise a party for you... even having a kind word to brighten up your day... they're all signs of love.. love is all around us..

So what if you haven't got plans for today? I don't have plans either but you don't see me complaining. =p I am so content =D =D and happy.

Oh, and random as this might sound, I just tried to dye red streaks in my hair at home, but the dye turned out to be way too dark, you can't even tell that it's dyed. =( There goes my brilliant red streaks. Experiment failed.

Ipoh-Penang trip 6th-9th Feb

The day after the exams, Tracey, Ya Peng, Koay Yan, Issac and I went to Ipoh. Issac went home, and the rest of us stayed in Tracey's house for the night.

The next day we went to eat Hakka Mee and the authentic Old Town White Coffee. I bought my addictive heong peng!!

At around noon, we started driving to Penang, to meet the guys, who left KL at 9 plus am. By the time we reached Wooi Jye's house in Penang, it was almost 3pm. The guys arrived a short while after, and we hung around for awhile more, before heading off to eat.

What we did on this trip can be basically summed up with... we ate ate ate and ate some more.

First stop : CENDOL!!!

The girls: Me, Ya Peng, Koay Yan, Tracey

The guys: Kenny, Kaiyik, Siew Bing and Wooi Jye

ice kacang!

REAL penang fried kway teow!!

String ray!!

We stayed at Seri Malaysia, and was shocked by the amount of mosquitoes in the room the first night. There were swarms of them, and we were forced to buy shieldtox. Die, mosquitoes, die!!!

On Sunday morning, we left for Butterworth and met up with Leaf. We had seafood!

This shop opens for seafood dishes in the day only, and due to previous experience, we arrived early and managed to eat a whole lot of damn good food.

It was Thaipusam on Sunday, and as we were caught in slow moving traffic, I took a photo of the passing procession. Cultural festivites still hold me fascinated. I guess I really am a true Malaysian at heart =p

We had dim sum for breakfast on Monday morning, and we ate SOOOOOO much. The bill however was so much cheaper than I expected.

Round 1

Round 2

Round 3

I left Penang that morning, on a flight back to Kota Kinabalu.

In Penang airport

It was a fun trip, albeit the scorching hot sun. I am now back in KK, Sabah being a lazy bum =p

Farewell

Kenny, Jizz, Jordan, Joy, Wooi Jye, Tracey, Hui Lu, Leaf, Syn Dee, Kai Yik, Pay Jing, Kitson, Nan En, Shi Wenn, Siew Bing, Me and Ya Peng

Cheers!

Exams finished on the 5th Feb, and I have officially finished my last days in TAR college. My coursemates were so kind to organise a farewell dinner for me (cum post-exam celebration and belated birthdays?? haha) They asked what I'd like to eat, and I said a normal chinese dinner, coz that feels a lot more family-like. So we went to Genting Klang and had the most scumptious feast. The dishes were small, so we ordered 9 dishes for our table lol. It was like a chinese new year reunion dinner all over again! We took up two tables that night. They even bought me a woolen scarf and hat, which was really really nice, and I like it so much =) Thanks!

With the girls

With the guys

After dinner, a few of us headed off to the temple, while some of them went back home. They told me it'll be beautiful at night, so I tagged along. They were right. The lanterns adorned the intricately designed temple beautifully and it was indeed a sight to behold.

Then, we headed off to cheras to send Nan En back home. We all cramped into her room for a moment just chatting. Someone took pineapple tarts without asking! Hui Lu and Leaf were very entertaining to listen to (as usual) haha

In En's house. En, me, Hui Lu and Leaf.
We crowded her bed, the rest of them had to stand =p

After lingering for awhile, we went to Tracey's house to linger for yet another while before heading back to our respective homes (or hostel, for me). It was a great night of lepak-ing.

I shall be leaving in exactly a week from now. I shall miss all of you so much. =)
